To celebrate the 180th anniversary of Dewar’s, join us for a fascinating evening exploring the people, places and stories behind one of Perthshire’s most famous global whisky brands.
Discover the story of one of Scotland’s most iconic whisky brands as historians and whisky experts explore how Dewar’s grew from its Perth roots into a global success. From the rise of Perthshire’s whisky industry in the 19th century to the Dewar family’s enduring philanthropic legacy, this special event will uncover key chapters in the brand’s remarkable history, with plenty of opportunities to enjoy a dram or three along the way.
On the night, we’ll be joined by Arthur Motley, Scotch Whisky Industry Consultant, Jacqui Seargeant, Global Heritage Manager at John Dewar & Sons, Professor Niall Mackenzie of Strathclyde University and Lord Forteviot, Alexander Dewar
The evening will be rounded off with a special whisky tasting led by Jonathan Wilson, Visitor Centre Manager at Aberfeldy Distillery.
Guests will sample three iconic whiskies: Dewar’s White Label, first introduced in 1899, Dewar’s Double Double 21 Year Old, and Aberfeldy 21 Year Old single malt.
There will also be original artefacts from the Dewar’s archive on display, and each attendee will receive a complimentary ticket for a guided tour of Dewar’s Aberfeldy Distillery, valid for redemption between 1 November 2026 and 28 February 2027.
Please note that this event is for adults aged 18+ only. Discounted tickets for this event are available for retired Dewar’s members of staff.
