AK Bell Library

York Place, Perth, PH28EP

Date

Boro (or boromono) means ‘rags’ in Japanese and refers to the clothing and textiles produced in rural northern Japan by repeatedly patching and mending cloth to extend its lifespan. It is closely tied to the philosophy of mottainai – a respect and regret for anything that has to be wasted- and was borne of economic and environmental hardship.

If you want to learn more about zero-waste sewing and how to visibly mend your clothes, then sign up for this workshop. Suitable for ages 16+.

Spaces are limited for this free workshop. Book a spot by emailing [email protected].
