Luis Alcada is a comedian and poet from Portugal who somehow found himself living in Dundee — and has been making people laugh about life, culture and everything in between ever since.
A familiar face on the Scottish comedy circuit, Luis runs Icebreaker Comedy and Nicemaker CIC and has created online content for the BBC that has attracted millions of views.
His live performances have taken him from Dundee Rep and the Byre Theatre to Edinburgh Fringe, Leicester Comedy Festival and stages as far afield as Lisbon and Bangkok.
Combining sharp comedy, storytelling and poetry with his own distinctive perspective, Luis brings an original voice to the stage and a show that is clever, unpredictable and very funny.
He’s performed in theatres, festivals and cities around the world.
But, as Luis puts it, mostly basements in Dundee.
Luis Alcada comes to Perth Fringe 2026 for four performances this September.
