Perth’s Classic Car and Vehicle Weekend

Get ready for a high-octane weekend as Perth’s Classic Car and Vehicle Weekend returns on Saturday 30 and Sunday 31 May, bringing together iconic cars, family fun and a unique two-venue experience across Perth and Scone.

On Saturday, Tay Street roars into life, with a vibrant, open-air showcase of motoring history, as a spectacular line-up of classic vehicles takes over Perth’s beautiful riverside. It’s free to attend, fun to explore and perfectly placed for a relaxed wander through the city’s independent shops, cafés and green spaces.

And that’s not all!

Across both Saturday and Sunday, you can step inside one of Scotland’s most remarkable private collections at Morris Leslie’s in Scone. Home to more than 160 classic vehicles, immersive vintage displays, and a treasure trove of motoring nostalgia this annual, must-see event is a firm favourite amongst motoring enthusiasts everywhere.

And with a free vintage bus service linking the city centre to Scone throughout the weekend, it’s never been easier to experience both.  Buses will depart from Perth Concert Hall, starting at 9.45am, and then every 20 minutes until the last bus at 2.45pm.

PLUS: Scone Palace Garden Fair takes place on Friday 29th and Saturday 30th May, giving you another fantastic reason to make Perth your destination over this weekend.

Top Five Classic Car and Vehicle Weekend Highlights

1.    Tay Street’s Riverside Classic Car and Vehicle Showcase
Set along the banks of the River Tay, this fantastic display of classic cars, vintage buses and lorries, agricultural gems, military vehicles and much more, runs through one of the most scenic streets in Perth. Start at one end and soak up the atmosphere of the event, grab a selfie with a classic ford, and chat with the owners and experts who are only too willing to share their knowledge and enthusiasm.

2.    A Living Piece of Formula 1 History
Feel the thrill of true racing heritage as you come face-to-face with the legendary 1993 Benetton B193B, which was famously driven by racing legend, Michael Schumacher. Designed by Ross Brawn and Rory Byrne, and powered by a roaring Ford-Cosworth V8, it represents a golden era of Formula 1 innovation. And as the only fully running example in the world, seeing it up close is a rare, goosebumps moment!

3.    See The Batmobile Up Close
The Batmobile brings a burst of big-screen magic to the weekend, making it a must-see for families, film fans and anyone who loves an iconic photo opportunity.
It’s bold, it’s instantly recognisable, and it adds a playful twist that makes this event just as exciting for the kids as it is for classic car enthusiasts.

4.    A Stroll Around Perth City Centre
Take the chance to enjoy the city of Perth and its gorgeous independent shops, cafés and restaurants. Make a day of it with lunch at favourites like 63 Tay Street or plan a visit to Perth Distillery, home to the award-winning Perth Gin. With so much to see and do just steps from the display, it’s as much about the location as it is the cars!

5.    The Morris Leslie Private Collection by Vintage Bus
With more than 160 classic vehicles and exhibits, this is a rare opportunity to step into decades of motoring history, including classic cars from the 50s, 60s and 70s, a mix of British, American and European models, extensive toy and model car collections, vintage memorabilia and immersive period displays. And of course, to stay on theme, getting there is part of the experience. A free vintage bus service will run from Perth city centre to Scone, turning the journey into a nostalgic ride before you even arrive.
