Top Five Highlights at Scone Palace International Horse Trials

Set in the historic grounds of Scone Palace, you don't need to know your Clydesdales from your Connemaras to have a brilliant day out at Scone. Whilst the event is centred around international eventing, one of the most demanding disciplines in equestrian sport, there's plenty more to see and do.

Beyond the headline international classes, visitors can enjoy a packed programme featuring British Showjumping, Arena Eventing, Pony Club Games, Native Breed Showing, Retraining of Racehorses competitions and the Subaru Scottish Grassroots Championships. 

You'll also find a fantastic Shopping Village, plenty delicious food and drink stalls, and a thrilling atmosphere, alive with the buzz of elite sport and a passionate, equestrian crowd.   

The Cross-Country Course

Watch the most illustrious riders in the world tackle Alec Lochore's beautifully-designed cross-country course, which loops round the undulations of the grounds below Scone Palace and along the banks of the River Tay. The Scone Palace course is famous for its incredible carvings, depicting Scottish history and aspects of Scottish rural life; walk the course and spot them all! Cross-country takes place on both Saturday or Sunday in two feature classes, the CCI4*-L (Saturday) and CCI4*-S (Sunday). 

Free Family Fun - including the dog!

Bring the whole family, four legs included, for a day of fun. Under 12s go free, and ages 12 to 16 start at only £12.  Once there, the Horse Scotland Village offers a dedicated space for younger visitors, complete with Finne, the horse simulator, therapy ponies, a Pony Club Chat, and a quiet craft corner.  On Saturday and Sunday there will also be a fun dog show judged by Viscount William Stormont. Categories include Waggiest Tail, Best Trick and The One the Judge Wants to Take Home.

A Spectacular Shopping Village

Boasting over 170 traders across the site, the shopping village is a destination in its own right. Family-run outfitter Humes brings a century of country-clothing expertise, HI HO Silver will be there with their specially designed equestrian jewellery, and equestrian favourites Le Mieux and Rydale deliver the goods for horse enthusiasts. British brand, Joules, will supply the official merchandise with a colourful range of polo shirts, sweaters and caps.

Local Food and Drink

Perthshire's finest flavours are on full display, with three new Social Hubs bringing together artisan food trucks, bars and big screens showing the sporting action. Expect everything from Magic 5 Wood Fired Pizzas and The Rolling Stove's Greek-inspired street food, to Aperol trucks and sweet treats galore. As well as ready to eat, Scones Larder returns for a second year showcasing the very best of the area including Tayport Distillery, The Handy Shop veg, and Cartel Pies.

The Members Area

Take in the action from the exclusive Members Area, complete with spacious, luxury marquee, relaxed seating, a well-stocked bar and one of the best views in the park from the private lawn. Indulge further throughout the day with delicious menus and freshly prepared sit-down meals, alongside attentive table service that lets you relax and enjoy the occasion. From a morning coffee and cake to a leisurely lunch or afternoon drink, everything is designed to make your visit effortless and enjoyable.
