Perth Christmas Lights Switch-On Weekend

Perth's famous Christmas Lights Switch-On Weekend returns for another vibrant, fun-filled event in the heart of the city centre.
Running from Friday 20 to Sunday 22 November, this is one of Scotland’s most magical festive celebrations. Get ready for the city to sparkle as we light up the streets; enjoy live music and dazzling street performances; tuck into some delicious festive food and drink; and shop until you drop at the bustling Christmas market filled with seasonal treats and gifts.
The weekend kicks off on Friday 20 November, when the Festive Market opens along King Edward Street and High Street for three days of treats and gifting inspiration. Santa's Grotto will also open at Horsecross Plaza, with Santa taking up residence for all three days of the switch-on weekend. We'd love to see all the good children form an orderly queue to receive an early Christmas gift.
Friday is also full of spooky fun with the Christmas Ghost Tours, and dancemania at the Silent Disco.
And that's us just getting started!
Saturday is switch-on day itself. The Santa Run gets things moving at midday, followed by an afternoon of street entertainment, funfairs and live music across three big stages located at Tay Street, King Edward Street and Mill Street. The big moment arrives from a new location on Tay Street, just outside the Royal George, and will be followed by a glorious fireworks display on from North Inch.
Sunday brings the celebrations to the streets with not one, not two, but three Parades!
Perth's main Christmas Parade starts at noon, the Parade of the Bakers kicks off at 2pm and the much-loved Nativity and Lantern Parade will make its way from St Ninians Cathedral at 5pm, to St John's Kirk for carols, mince pies and hot drinks. Everyone's favourite Cake Fest returns to the Civic Hall, 2 High Street, from midday until 4pm, packed with delicious cakes, bakes and sweet treats.
Across the city centre, the Mill Street and King Edward Street stages will be filled with live music and community performances, making it another rip-roaring day of festive fun for the whole family until 5pm.
