SAMHAIN AT THE CRANNOG – 31st OCTOBER
Join us at The Scottish Crannog Centre on 31 October from 6pm–10pm for a very special evening as we celebrate Samhain, the ancient Celtic festival marking the transition from autumn into winter.
As the nights draw in, the Crannog will come alive with music, performance, crafts, stories and plenty of Halloween magic. Dressing up is strongly encouraged, so come along in your spookiest, most creative or most mysterious costume and take part in our costume competition. There may even be a prize for the best dressed!
Throughout the evening, enjoy fantastic circus performances from Wolanski Circus and Reely Jiggered, who will bring their unique style of entertainment to the Crannog. There will also be live music from Munro and Neil, and shadow puppets creating the perfect atmosphere as we gather together for an evening of celebration.
There will be plenty to get involved with too. Discover what the future might hold with fortune telling, and create your own spell bag to take home. With activities, performances and surprises happening throughout the evening, there will be something for everyone to discover.
As darkness falls, the atmosphere will build towards the highlight of the evening – the spectacular burning of a giant wicker Kelpie. Watch as the fiery figure lights up the night over Loch Tay, bringing our Samhain celebrations to a dramatic close.
Whether you come dressed up ready to join in the festivities or simply want to experience a unique evening at the Crannog, Samhain is an event not to be missed.
