The Scottish Crannog Centre

2,500 years ago, some people across Scotland lived in Iron Age loch-dwellings known as “Crannogs”. 17 of these have been found on Loch Tay in Perthshire and since 1980, they’ve explored these ancient dwellings.

The Scottish Crannog Centre is located on the beautiful shores of Loch Tay, offering stunning views and an immersive journey into Scotland’s Iron Age past.

Their team of enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and friendly Iron Age Interpreters will guide you through the Crannog story, giving you a glimpse into prehistoric life, and showing you the skills and lives of folk 2,500 years ago in their newly built Iron Age Village.

Open daily from 10am to 6pm, the site offers guided tours and some delicious local treats and Glen Lyon coffee at their café.
